Custom Deliveries Cutscene Bug

*This entry contains screenshots with NPC dialogue, which might be spoilers to the Custom Deliveries / Kurenai quest lines.*

Today I was doing Custom Deliveries with Kurenai and I think my internet crapped out and caused some buggy positioning on the NPC. When Sanana spoke, instead of appearing on the screen normally, she was invisible, and Kurenai weirdly looked above. I was like DAFUQ!?

Then, in the next sentence, when she talked to Sanana, I realized that she actually tried to look at Sanana… Sanana must have been floating in the air, beyond the camera frame.

The correct cutscene would look like below:

When Sanana speaks.

And then, when Kurenai talks to Sanana.

It was funny that even the cutscene could glitch like that lol!

Eternal Bonding Ceremony

So, today my character on Tonberry was in an Eternal Bonding Ceremony, wedding to a handsome Lord Haurchefant (Raykit’s character) and I’m posting a few pics here.

The paths we walk, the oaths we swear,
The triumphs we share and the burdens we bear,
All will be cherished and kept in our hearts,
Stay faithful and loyal ‘till death do us part.

To love and to care, in sickness and in health,
Through thick and thin, through poverty and wealth.
To have and to hold, from this day forward,
For better, for worse, we shall go onward.

To serve, to protect, to aid in times of need,
I shall be by your side, through your every deed.
My love will not falter, my heart will not break,
Having you by my side, is the choice that I make.

With trust and honour, with love and with life,
We share all together, as husband and wife.

Goodbye Bahamut!!!

Goodbyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Bahamuttttttttttttt!!!!!

OMG I’m freaking out!!! We finally downed Bahamut, CoB T13 (Final Coil of Bahamut, Turn 4).

Today we gathered again and tackled T13 once more. Corn needed a minute, so I took that opportunity to take some group pics. XD Sorry, Kuji, first pic has you with very evil face HAHAHA.

ffxiv_05222016_225613_new

Must love /gpose new feature that allows party to stop looking at the camera. :D

ffxiv_05222016_225626_new

During the fight, I was derping really badly, even managed to die TWICE, and only remembered to take 3 pics.

Today we surprisingly took only 1 attempt to win.

It’s really nice to beat Coil of Bahamut with close friends. :D (We always go in as small group, partly because I fear drama. I heard about drama and endless drama involving endgame raid and I’m scared. The fight is very intense, and everyone could be on the verge of flipping shit. So I guess we kind of never wanted to struggle with recruiting more raid members ><;; You know, even with this tight-knitted, laid-back and light-hearted team, we yelled at each other or got pouty on occasions during Coil runs. We prevailed while managing to preserve good relationship only because we’re very close, whereas I don’t have the same confidence for loyalty and forgiveness from other people as I have with these guys. We’re also casual players and other average raid players won’t like us or our messy/random schedule, hahaha!)

Phoenix, Down. One more to go.

We beat T12.

Yesterday we went back to face the Phoenix once again, unexpectedly. Well, Corn and Kuji might have expected it, but I thought we weren’t going, as Dew had to leave her house very early to take her mom to a doctor appointment, and PZ told me he wasn’t feeling well (so I shooed him to bed, before Corn logged in).

We ended up going anyway, at first Corn just wanted to go in as 4 people to try the “hot potato” strategy. We learned so much and we did much better after he explained some of the mechanics. It felt much easier when we knew (or at least were aware of) what to do.

Then, someone said wahhhh could have passed with 1 more person in the party. And Dew spotted PZ on FB and told me, so I asked him to come. We spent so much time melding up people (Corn had his lunch and melded for Dew at the same time lol) and eventually entered.
ffxiv_05162016_003416_new

We wiped a lot and refined our strategies after each wipe. I was so excited to see so much improvement in a short period of time.

ffxiv_05162016_005142_new

Below was the last battle pic I took on our successful attempt. I was too busy panicking healing people and passing the hot potato (Purgatory debuffs) and trying to stand in the Fountain, etc., and didn’t have enough brain to take more pics as Phoenix was dying. XD

ffxiv_05162016_011748_new

And finally, the Phoenix was down.

Off we go, to the last stage, the evil Bahamut awaits. Long story short, we didn’t win and disbanded a little before 4 a.m. Thailand time. LOL. We will try again later. We learned a lot already. :D

T9, T10 and (attempt) T11

Again, we (finally)  managed to scrape together 5 bodies to attempt T9 (Second Coil of Bahamut, turn 4) last night. This time PZ logged in and joined us (yay!) so we had more targets for the fire & ice. No more getting 2nd ice in my face before the aiming fire could land!!!! XD LOL!

ffxiv_05092016_003322_new

T9 alone took 3 hours, including dinner break/snack break/bathroom break.

Last session (about a week ago, or maybe it was 2 weeks ago) we knew we improved. Even though PZ wasn’t with us, we nailed the Comet phase and got to the 2nd part about 90% of the time. The Fire & Ice thing was what we had BIG problem with. But last night, with Corn’s plan of having everyone huddling together except Fire-debuffed person, we flew through it quite smoothly. I even developed a skill in reading my own debuff precisely and managed to avoid zapping the party with my Thunder shots. This time, though, the Divebombs are once again my woe, up until we won.

To be honest, I ran around like a headless chicken when it’s Divebombs phase. Amid the havoc and my panic, I had completely no idea where the north is, not to even mention remembering where to place bomb or hide from bomb (4-11 o’clock, 7-2 o’clock, 2-7 o’clock). Also, I think I kept killing Corn with Lunar Dynamo that was aimed on me.

ffxiv_05092016_021927_new

In this pic (above), I didn’t even remember what all happened…. But 3 people were dead and I entered panic mode.

From examining the chatlog: PZ died (twice), then Corn also died (from my Lunar Dynamo, I think) then Dew died.

This thing is very difficult, and the best we could do was 44%. Then, it was almost 4 a.m. and PZ had to sleep because he has work on Monday.

T5-T8 down, T9 underway

During the past weekend, my FC had a rare occurrence where 5 members were on at the same time and had the same plan: Ponies farm for Kirin and slowly progressing through our CoB content.

On Saturday we went for a round against the Primals and got a pony from Shiva, we decided to tackle T5, Twintania, again. This was like our 5th or 6th session in T5, as it was hard to gather enough people to try to practice against the Death Knights and Twister. We kept going at it for about 5 times this session, and finally fell Twintania and earned our long-awaited cutscenes.

On the last attempt where we won, I died from a Death Knight while Twintania was at 18%, but the rest ofthe party was able to finish it due to Corn’s epic timing in using Hallowed Ground and spamming Clemency on himself. I couldn’t believe my eyes lol. I was in shock, in awe, and in a daze I only got 1 bad screenshot of that scene ; ; So sad!

ffxiv_11012015_013058_newffxiv_11012015_013220_newffxiv_11012015_014256_new

Then, we continued to the Second Coil of Bahamut and started T6.
ffxiv_11012015_021605_new

T6 was quite straightforward and we won against Rafflesia without a wipe (I didn’t even know how we won. I can’t remember, I was in zombie mode in that fight because it became Sunday’s 3 a.m. and I had donated my blood on Saturday morning. I got very sleepy during the run.)  It was quite a healing-intensive fight, and although I had watched the video guide (by MrHappy, of course) I couldn’t remember shit and was just running around, into the thorns, following the tank and keeping everyone alive, oh and also spamming Assize.

ffxiv_11012015_024031_newffxiv_11012015_024048_newffxiv_11012015_024053_newffxiv_11012015_024115_new

Then, we continued to T7 and kind of just winged it. We learned by practice after a quick read-up on mechanics. However, it was very late at night and had to disband after several wipes.

ffxiv_11012015_025129_newffxiv_11012015_025407_new

On Sunday, we went back to T7 again to try to defeat the Lamia. After practicing while adapting the normal strategy to our unorthodox party for a while, we finally won.

ffxiv_11022015_011258_new

Then, T8 was so bad due to my sudden lag spikes.  (resmon showed my FFXIV ping to be 2900 – 3400) that it was impossible to play. So I hopped the line and stole dad’s wifi signal instead. It then became playable. But I was a spoiled healer. I got very upset at the number of the mechanics to learn and memorize, so I decided to ask my party if I could just stand there lime dumb and heal bomb people, not dealing with the towers. I just couldn’t remember shit, especially since I was unwilling to spend 10-20 minutes watching any guide, so PZ gave brief to everyone, and me, while I was having lags issue and trying like hell to get to the boss room after we used wrong pads and jumped all over the place in random directions. I couldn’t concentrate on reading his brief, though. I was too busy trying to stay alive through ping 3400 while fumbling around to find my party and yelling at PZ for telling me to stop running. Worse yet, all the chatlog was wiped when I relogged to change internet connection, so I couldn’t scroll up to read anything.
ffxiv_11022015_024131_newffxiv_11022015_035441_new

I left all the tower management burden on my teammates. You guys got my extreme gratitude. I really couldn’t split my attention to anything else and was so overwhelmed it was frustrating. By getting to just stand there like dumb and doing nothing but my healing duty really was a big help.

ffxiv_11022015_035444_new

Then, although it was like 4 a.m., we went to T9, partly for the cutscene. We are still learning the mechanics here but it was hard to watch video and adapt, as the phases went so fast because of the high DPS from the party being unsynced. (Actually, phases went abnormally fast in every of the Turns we passed, but somehow this one was so brutal when phases were sped up.)

ffxiv_11022015_040000_new

Although we haven’t won yet, it was a good training run. It took a lot to learn and memorize, because this boss has a shit load of crazy mechanics. For now, I know how and where to drop the comets and when to share damage or when to split up. We will eventually get this. :D

Thank Heavensturn for You (2014)

Continuing the Year of the Horse quest in FFXIV:

ffxiv_01102014_020900_cr

So, after all the errands in 3 city-states, we’re moving onto the conclusion of the event quest. The Uma Bugyo has to face-off with the “enemy” Chocowacker who opposed the introduction of the horses and offended the creature.
ffxiv_01102014_020209_crffxiv_01102014_020217_crffxiv_01102014_020241_crffxiv_01102014_020251_crffxiv_01102014_020257_crffxiv_01102014_020317_crffxiv_01102014_020327_cr

Their honey-coated formalities fell apart pretty quickly and escalated into a heated argument. But before it broke out into a real fight, a knight on a white horse, ahem, a knight beside a chocobo, came along to interrupt it.

ffxiv_01102014_020344_cr ffxiv_01102014_020354_cr ffxiv_01102014_020404_cr

I almost died laughing when I realized who it was. And yes, I recognized him right away because he is….unique, and I’m a BIG fan of him. He became my best pal since I arrived in Camp Dragonhead for the first time, you know.

ffxiv_01102014_020408_cr ffxiv_01102014_020413_crffxiv_01102014_020421_cr

I really love his witty reply. It is so him. I love his speech, his reactions, and his emotes. He is so dramatic, as always.

ffxiv_01102014_020434_crffxiv_01102014_020557_cr ffxiv_01102014_020612_crffxiv_01102014_020622_cr

I felt for his indecision because I, too, share the same sentiment. Horse or chocobo, I cannot choose (unless it is a chocobo CHICK, then I immediately pick the chocobo chick, LOL).

ffxiv_01102014_020628_crffxiv_01102014_020638_cr ffxiv_01102014_020649_cr

Now he starts…..

ffxiv_01102014_020658_cr ffxiv_01102014_020708_cr

Are you freaking kidding me!? LOL.

ffxiv_01102014_020713_cr ffxiv_01102014_020721_crffxiv_01102014_020731_cr

He did a /welcome motion in this one, and Elezen’s /welcome is quite….intimidating. Also, my screenshot caught him at a bad moment, too much white of the eyes were showing, making him look even scarier LOL!! So I tried again on another character and got the one below. Erm, just a little bit better.

ffxiv_01102014_022633_crffxiv_01102014_020750_cr

Haha, the Chief Chocowacker cannot stand his….vague, imagination-igniting, possibly-suggestive speech. Sometimes I feel like Haurchefant is using a subtle, borderline harassment kind of talk when he talks to me. But it could just be that he’s too open and too direct with his speech. Doesn’t matter, I like him A LOT.

ffxiv_01102014_020755_cr ffxiv_01102014_020805_crffxiv_01102014_020812_crffxiv_01102014_020823_crffxiv_01102014_020829_cr

Bye, see you! <3

ffxiv_01102014_020834_cr

Happy New Turn for everyone! Enjoy the year of the horse! ^_^

————————————————————

The whole NPC dialogues went as follows:

Uma Bugyo: In honor and glory do we first lay eyes on each other. You are that which is called the chief of chocowackers by Eorzeans and outlanders alike. I am the uma bugyo.

Chief Chocowacker: Thank you for coming, esteemed visitor from the Far East. Let’s settle this thing once and for all, shall we?

Chief Chocowacker: A truly magnificent chocobo is about to arrive in these stables. After that, we can both go home because it will be pretty clear even to you that we’ve no need of horses in Eorzea!

Uma Bugyo: Your initial courtesy was as a thin soup before a meal of bones. You speak of things becoming clear, m’lady, but there is no clarity in your own mind─only folly.

Uma Bugyo: Thanks to this adventurer most beautiful, fleet, and powerful, Eorzea desires to know more of the horse. Is that not clear to you?

Chief Chocowacker: Excuse me!? You think a cheap stunt like that means anything? The last girl to put on a funny hat and clown about was selling lardy cakes, and people talked about that for a few days, too!

Uma Bugyo: Funny hat!? A work of high art and cunning craft this is, and in the image of mine own courser fair. Oh, the scurrilousness!

Chief Chocowacker: The scurry-what!? Nobody in Eorzea even understands what you’re saying! As for your precious horses, they’re just unicorns with a big empty forehead. Hornless! Hornless!

???: Abandon your quarrel, your tongues are sharp enough to shave an urchin!

???: Treespeak sends for the finest chocobo in Coerthas, and I have brought it thus… Now, what ails you that you would keep me waiting?

Chief Chocowacker: But that armor is Haurche─ …No, that can’t be. Excuse me, who are you? I didn’t send for a horse-head to deliver my chocobo!

Knight Exemplar: Well, if you cannot name me, I have no name to claim! The helm I bought off a passing adventurer. It has a certain…vigor that appealed to me.

Knight Exemplar: Esteemed visitor from the East, I have the honor to have been born under the unicorn sigil of a proud house. Horn or no, I know the love you bear for the mount of your homeland.

Knight Exemplar: The supple muscles under the silky coat, the music of the hooves…the velvet of the muzzle, and the inscrutable black sea of their eyes. Ah, the horse!

Knight Exemplar: But I am also a man of Coerthas, where the love of chocobos runs as deep as their bloodline runs pure. Which is better, bird or horse? I could not say.

Uma Bugyo: You could not say? Exactly useless, then, was that soliloquy! M’lord seems not to comprehend that I am now honor-bound to prove the horse superior to this…this chit!

Knight Exemplar: Then your honor is forfeit, as is hers. The finest creature here is neither the horse nor the chocobo…

Knight Exemplar: …but my trusted comrade of many adventures, Aleczan!

Knight Exemplar: Look at the scars upon her kabuto. How mightily she must have toiled to become a horse…and against all odds, succeed!

Knight Exemplar: The docility to accept well-nigh impossible commands, the physical talents to carry them out─to a warrior born such as I, there are no virtues greater in a steed!

Knight Exemplar: I say, be my personal steed! There will be none greater, furred or feathered. The finest carrots you will have. Your feet I will scrape, and…

Chief Chocowacker: Uh, Lord Haur─I mean, Lord No-name, I think you made your point. You can stop now. Please.

Uma Bugyo: I must agree with m’lady here. If we agree to discuss the matter at some later and calmer time, m’lord, will you refrain from further flying of fancies?

Knight Exemplar: Well, if you are in agreement, I see no further need for my presence here. I shall take the chocobo and return north.

Knight Exemplar: Aleczan, we were well met again. You will one day make your way back to our camp, I trust? We will sit by the fire and talk of glory and adventure!

Knight Exemplar: May the new turn be a blessed one!

“Thank Heavensturn for You” objective fulfilled!

Uma Bugyo: In rue and chagrin do I face you after such fit of temper. I tremble to think what reckless words may have tumbled from this mouth without the Ishgardian lord’s interruption.

Uma Bugyo: Curious it is how the best of intentions curdle so quickly into an act of spite. M’lady has much to teach me in the clean-breaking ways of the spinning hairball.

Uma Bugyo: The chief of chocowackers also regrets her rash words. In tranquility and amity we have determined to meet again, to search for a two-beast solution.

Uma Bugyo: The people have seen, the people have spoken─all thanks to m’lady. The way is open for the horse, and someday, with the chocowackers’ assent, we shall canter into Eorzea.

Uma Bugyo: Much has been asked of m’lady adventurer, yet more has been given by her. Accept this Heavensturn dish, traditional in the East, as a token of our friendship and promise.

Uma Bugyo: May the new turn be a blessed one for you, for you from the Far East we pray.

“Thank Heavensturn for You” complete!

You obtain a bowl of zoni.

You earn the achievement “Horsing About”!

FFXIV Main Scenario Ending

2 days ago, very very late at night, I finally managed to finish the last mission (main scenario quest) in FFXIV. I felt so drained afterward, and extremely exhausted, although I got a hell lot of help from friends in the Linkshell and from strangers from Duty Finder. I went as WHM for a healer, while Corn joined as PLD to tank and dragged Diver in as a BLM because they felt that I would keep procrastinating if I were left to seek party on my own. XD

*Spoilers Warning* (Main quest lv 50)
Screenshots in this entry are taken from cutscenes and will reveal some plot details, such as whom we fought against, who accompanied us besides the party members, who returned, who survived, etc. So, if you haven’t finished main scenario quest of level 50 in Praetorium, you might not want to see this entry.

FFXIV_Ending01

So, after rushing through Castrum Meridianum without watching any cutscene, because I was scared of being yelled at, and that it is said that people tend to be an asshole about it in Castrum Meridianum, and the fact that I was a healer and was too afraid to keep watching the cutscene while other party members might be dying, I proceeded to the next dungeon battle.

FFXIV_Ending02

However, in this dungeon, I tried to watch everything, as people said some of the cutscenes here are one-time only and won’t show up ever again.

I really like how the cutscenes in FFXIV are mostly rendered from real time right at the spot, because then they also show other party members who was in the same fight as me. :D

FFXIV_Ending03

I didn’t know much about the strategy or even what to do. I just followed the group and did what Corn reminded me to do (like obtaining the key card to get a magitek armor).

FFXIV_Ending04

In boss fights, there was no briefing by other party members, only Corn told me (in LS chat) what to expect and what to dodge with special care, etc. ><;; It’s not hard but I had to keep my focus better than usual, as it’s my first time in this dungeon and I hadn’t researched at all (yeah my bad LOL.)

FFXIV_Ending05

The pic below was taken mid-conversation, and yet Corn was already grabbing his sword LOL!!!

FFXIV_Ending06

Then I drew my weapon, too, and photobombed myself. T.T

FFXIV_Ending07

I like this serious look! (Below) Can’t tell if it’s just I was alerted or if I was angry.

FFXIV_Ending08

In some of the cutscenes, I activated the chatlog so that I could peek if anyone was yelling at me or not. And no one yelled. So I kept watching every cutscene.

FFXIV_Ending09

This gigantic monster was such a pain in the ass. >< I had a hard time dodging shit because it was such a havoc in there. Everything was so confusing. But at least I didn’t get hit by the laser beams.

FFXIV_Ending10

Round 2 was a tough nut as well.

FFXIV_Ending11

After the long dungeon, the ending cutscene was really worth it.

FFXIV_Ending12

And after the exit ending cutscene, then the end credits, there is one more cutscene to wrap up the story and prepare for the next leg of adventure.

FFXIV_Ending13

Mastering the Land

*Possibly spoilers* I tried to make this entry spoiler-free, but the screenshots and some short quotes might give away some clues of the quest’s story.

Summing up my activities in the past recent days again, but this time I’ll be less lazy and write more, instead of dumping a set of screenshots.

Alec_This_Week11 Alec_This_Week12Apart from getting the Halloween Costumes for Thanatos (on Masamune) and taking screenshots with Inari and some others, I have also been trying to catch up on main scenario quests, because I’ve been lazy and cannot join linkshell friends in many of the dungeon/boss runs that requires story progress.

Alec_This_Week13 Alec_This_Week14 Alec_This_Week15

After walking a hundred thousand malms on various errands for Buscarron while investigating the disappearance of the elder Sylph and then beating Toto-rak, I managed to plow through Fallgourd part of the story, where Noraxia advised for me to check for the suspicious masked person. Then, with immense help from 2 friends and a stranger from random Duty Finder, I passed the Haukker Manor.

Alec_This_Week16

The investigation got more complicated and after reporting to Minfilia and the Scions, I was sent out for more information regarding beastmen and Primals. Remembering what Zanel said about NPCs in the headquarter changing their spot and pose after each quest, I always check out the big room in the Waking Sands whenever I come here to talk to Minfilia.

Alec_This_Week17

What I found this time…. Biggs and Wegde are probably imitating General Raubahn and the Sultana, LOL.

Alec_This_Week18

But this!!!!! Noraxia…is…unbearable! The other 2 unnamed NPCs stared at me as if to ask “Are you a friend of this person?” NO!!! I have no association with this weirdo!!! By the way, some of you might recognize the red underwear. It is the red swimsuit from an event 2 years ago, I believe. This year you could also buy them from the Cascadier NPC during the Bombard event last month.

Alec_This_Week19

Then, as I was stuck in the main scenario quest due to level restriction, I went on my Arcanist to get some EXP as well as to do the class quest. I could actually change to other level 50 class to blow through the story, but I wanted to reap the extra EXP from main story quests reward, so I tried to stick to using ACN for the main quests.

Before getting distracted by other activities, I only managed to get to the Forgotten Springs, though. Now I have a bunch of errands from the Nunh and other Miqo’te guys to finish before they let me get the ingredients to deliver to Costa Del Sol.

I then changed to Disciples of the Land class and grinded my Miner level until 50. I finished my Botanist earlier, and did the guild tests all the way to 50 as well. I also picked up in my Fisher’s guild test from where I left off (I got to level 50 long ago but was lazy in questing when it tried to send me to Coerthas for some flying fish, bad me!)

Alec_This_Week20

“These trees will save lives.”

Alec_This_Week21

“The Mazlaya Marlin was a monster.”

Alec_This_Week22

“Accept that you were beaten.”

So I have now finished leveling up all 3 Disciples of the Land, and completed the guild test quests for all of them.

I must say SE is brilliant in writing some of the quests’ stories. They are, most of the time, entertaining and interesting. Some quests were also addictive and made me really want to find out more! I now have to finish Alchemist and Weaver quests, just for the sake of satisfaction of knowing what happens next.

Alec_This_Week23

However, despite all of the exciting things I’ve achieved, like getting to level 50 on Botanist and Miner (earning me the achievement “Mastering the Land“) and getting fully geared with level 50 HQ equipment on Fisher and Botanist (courtesy of Corn as the weaver and leatherworker), the most exciting thing I did was to go to The Wanderer’s Palace as a Monk!!! It is not that special, but for me it is very special. I usually go as White Mage even though my heart lies in the art of fists. So, to be able to join an end game activity as Monk is a big deal for me, and it felt totally satisfying.

I hope to go to WP on Monk more in the future. But I have to gear myself up first. We were quite slow in killing the mobs in there so I will have to improve my damage output in order to kill faster.

Revenge of the Chefsbane

WARNING: This entry contains graphic spoilers of Cooking quest (Culinarian Guild Test) level 50.
คำเตือน: หัวข้อนี้มีรูปภาพที่เปิดเผยเนื้อเรื่องของเควสต์กิลด์ทำอาหารเลเวล 50

Alright, I have just gleefully finished my Culinarian Guild Test level 50 today and obtained my newest Cooking Tool, Chantico. I really like how the event turned out and couldn’t stop laughing with satisfaction.

Yep, I am having a HUGE kick out of this quest. I wasn’t only clapping my hands, but also clapping my feet when I saw the outcome of this quest. LOL. Hell, yeah I am not a person to keep quiet when there’s something fishy. So, serve you right, mister! OMG, look at her face! Hahahahaa! That’s what you get for messing with me.

Anyway, since what I enjoyed was better be described visually, I will not talk about it further, but rather show you 10 screenshots from the cutscene in this quest. THAT FACE. That face of hers is just priceless. I now don’t mind that I had to go up and down the continents, the beaches, the rivers, and the mountains in order to gather the ingredients for these exquisite dishes. It really is worth it.
