Desynthesis: Steel Doming Hammer

So I had recently desynthesized more stuff. I had to also desynth with Goldsmith skill (and Culinarian skill), or leveling up my Blacksmith Desynthesis can randomly decrease it. So in the first session of Steel Doming Hammer desynth, I also did 100 Mythril Rings of Crafting.

The results are as follows:

Desynth pie charts

It was exact tie, in term of Fieldcraft Demimateria I.

On my server, it is slightly cheaper to make a Steel Doming Hammer than a Mythril Ring of Crafting, due to the price of Earth Shard vs. Wind Shards.

So, the next day I desynthesized more Steel Doming Hammers, using the leftover Steel Ingots and Oak Lumbers from previous session, and also bought more from NPC.

Results weren’t as pleasing. Only got 15 Field. Demimateria I instead of 18. Just tough luck, maybe.

Desynthesis: Mythril Ring of Crafting

I’ve been needing a lot of Demimateria I (both Battlecraft and Fieldcraft) lately and since making and desynthesizing Electrum stuff was too troublesome (and desynthesis failed on me quite a lot despite being  at 88-89% success rate), I’ve tried and recorded the results of a desynthesis session using 160 Mythril Rings of Crafting.

I started with about 110 sets of materials but ended up having enough for 160 rings, as it yielded a mad amount of Ingot and Whetstones.

160 Mythril RIngs Pie Chart

The pic above shows a pie chart of the desynthesis session.

The pic below lists the prices of stuff as well as the results. Click on the pic below for larger view.

Next time, even though it means I have to spend about 30,000 more gil, I’ll just buy Ingots from the Amalj’aa vendor instead of making from scratch.

Face Camera – Pause/Break Button

*for keyboard control manual, visit official site http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/win/manual/ *

A bit ago I learned to use the Pause (Break) button on my keyboard to make my character tilt her head to look directly at the camera (if anatomy allows). It is listed in the manual as “face camera” command. I think you can also assign specific key for it using Config => Shortcuts but I’m not in the game now so I can’t check.

It really makes difference for screenshots!

Screenshot without using "face camera"

Camera is in good position and desired angle, but the character isn’t looking at the camera.

So if you hit the Pause button (next to Scroll Lock on my keyboard, and the Scroll Lock button is next to Print Screem/SysRq button) your character will face the camera.

Screenshot when using "face camera"Gotta love this function. <3

Can’t download patch 2.38

*update*

OK It’s official, my ISP said their underwater cable for interlink has some problem and they’re trying to repair it. Ughhhhhhh!!

*end of update*

Not sure if it’s my internet’s fault or FFXIV players everywhere are downloading at the same time and thus compete on downloading speed/bandwidth, but my download is going as slow as 0.01MB/s and the time remaining says something like 997 minutes (it’s 3000 something minutes when speed display dropped to 0.00MB/s LOL!)

Sitting here cursing at the slow download, looking through my screenshots folder for what little comfort I could get. ; ;

Alec MonkI need to take more pics of my Monk because she’s handsome. :3

Fishing Hammerhead Sharks at Silver Bazaar

Today I was trying to catch my quest fish at Cape Westwind for Wawalago but the weather wasn’t suitable, so I went to Silver Bazaar for some sharks instead, as I have accumulated quite a stock of Silver Sharks from trying to fish the THING. If I could get some Hammerhead, I could spend all the sharks make some oils instead of having to sell them.

– My setup –
Location: Silver Bazaar, Western Thanalan
Bait/lure: Heavy Steel Jig
Gathering: 291

13 Lominsan Anchovy

Shark count : other fish count = 49 : 49
Whoa, LOL, 1:1. Not bad!

SCH Faerie Eos Stops Responding

OK, though I only feel like playing my Monk full time nowadays, I’ve been doing lowbies roulette such as Guildhest 10+ and Roulette 16+ on my SCH for practice everyday or at least every other day to prevent my rusting. One problem I had run into is that my Eos would completely stop responding after I use Fey Illumination.

At first I didn’t know what caused it, and I thought I was crazy. But then it happened again. I thought I screwed up due to recast timer, but nope. I checked, and all the cooldown timers were ready. Then I thought I had lag. Then I thought I did something wrong. I checked if my Faerie went back to sic mode, but no. And all the Faerie commands were usable (or seem usable) and it does not return the”not on manual” error thing. After several occasions, I found out that my faerie always does this to me whenever I used Fey Illumination. At first I resummoned her to fix it. But later on, as I ran into this issue again and again, I found out that Heel command can repair this and make her go back to normal.

Today in Cutter’s Cry, while tank was getting stomped half to death, I ordered Eos to use Fey Illumination to ease the curing stress. But then the tank went to almost dead, because Eos wasn’t responding to my Embrace command at all. I had to use Heel (even when she was already on Heel, LOL) to make her listen to me again.

Is this normal? Does it happen to everyone? I searched Google with “Eos not responding after Fey Illumination” but it returns no relevant result.

FFXIV Gatherer: How to gain GP

Lately I’ve noticed search keywords to my blog which are “how to increase GP” “how to recover gp ffxiv” “ffxiv arr regaining gp” so I’m writing about it today.

FFXIV_GP_Medicine

First off, you can’t get more max GP from leveling up. It stays the same. What you can do, however, is to use gatherer’s accessories (rings, necklace, earring and wristguard) that increase your maximum GP. When you level up higher, you gain access to better accessories which give more and more GP.

Average people have about 500 GP at level 50, this is without extra effort in, for example, using HQ accessories and gear that gives more GP, using GP food or melding GP materia. So if you make extra effort, you can have higher than 500 max GP.

As to recover GP, you either have to stand still (or run around, it doesn’t matter. Your GP will naturally regenerate over time. Also, if you don’t want to be idle, but rather continue gathering, you will regain 5 GP for every successful gathering attempt you make. However, since when you are engaged in gathering position, natural regen will stop. please note that when gather full time, even if you are successful every attempt, your GP will regenerate slightly slower than just letting the natural auto-regen work on it.

After patch 2.1, though, the speed your character will make the swing to gather items is a tad bit faster than before, so now it MIGHT be an equal match. I haven’t tested how much GP I regen in 1 minute while gathering yet, but I do notice that the gathering process takes shorter pause between attempts now.

Now (as of 2016) I do notice that, at ~600 max GP, it takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes in-game for me to fully recover my spent GP. Please take this in mind when you use up your GP for red scrips and blue scrips and hopping between nodes.

Also, there is a medicine called Cordial which will instantly give you 300 GP. This can be useful when, for example, you changed your class too late and when you arrive at an Unspoiled gathering node which is about to appear, you don’t have enough time to wait around for your natural GP regen to get you the amount of GP you need to use on it.

How to obtain this medicine? In taking Botany Levequests or Mining Levequests, you will have a chance to get an LQ that says it gives 1 vial of Cordial as reward. So Levemetes are where you can farm this medicine. Also, now you can buy it from your Grand Company using GC seals.

Remember that you cannot drink this medicine in the middle of gathering, so nope it won’t allow you to use Blessed Harvest, then drink the medicine, then use Leaf Turn in one gathering node. (I wished it would LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Amaljaa Dye Colors (Reputation Tier 3)

Ok, ok, so I have a lot to do and a lot to write about, but I’m a bad blogger who’s super lazy so my blog has been quite idle this week. Therefore, in order to make it have some activity, I’m cheating today by posting 3 pics for the 3 new dyes from Amalj’aa Beast Tribe Vendor (patch 2.1).

Model: my friend on Ragnarok (whose name I’ll omit because I didn’t have permission from him :P LOLOLOL)

You need Reputation rank 3 (1 is Neutral, 2 is Recognized, 3 is Friendly). I haven’t gotten to it yet, but my friend was kind enough to remember that I wanted to see the new dyes, so when he attained Friendly Rank, he invited me to observe while he tried out the new dyes on his Summoner’s clothing.

I haven’t gotten around to making screenshots comparison for the new dyes yet. I am waiting for myself to have access to all the new dyes first (and enough inventory space to buy them hahahahaha!)

Fishing Log – The Black Shroud

I haven’t typed out the fish list yet, and the screenshots of the fish list are all done, but I’ll need a bit to upload all of them. However, I have to force myself to make this entry, otherwise I will keep procrastinating. I’m arranging and adding details to this entry slowly, but for now is will show just the map screenshots. Sorry for the incomplete information, but I must publish this to push myself to do it, LOL. ><;; The longer I leave it, the more lazy I get!

Patch 2.1 New Dyes

*I am listing crafted dyes only, for now.*

With patch 2.1, there are 20 new colors of dye in the game, 6 crafted dyes and 14 vendor dyes. They freaking added 6 brown dyes while purple only got 2!!!! NO, I am not jealous at all. (TwT) Uguuuuuuuuuguuuuuuuugh! (crying noise) Green got 5 new colors. Blue also got 5. Finally, there are 1 yellow and 1 orange.

You can see the list here http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/03843d6bf7ba69adc37d7955ff7af43f3c43828a under “New dyes have been added.”

Patch 2.1’s New Crafted Dyes:
Sunset Orange
Kobold Brown
Ochu Green
Othard Blue
Storm Blue
Plum Purple

(But where is my lavender purple!? Wahhhhh /cry)

Patch 2.1’s New Vendor Dyes:
Qiqirn Brown
Aldgoat Brown
Acorn Brown
Shale Brown
Coeurl Yellow
Raisin Brown
Lime Green
Marsh Green
Cactuar Green
Turquoise Green
Seafog Blue
Peacock Blue
Raptor Blue
Currant Purple

The new vendor dyes are sold from beast tribe vendors, according to gamerescape.com. However, in order to be able to purchase these new dyes from the beastmen vendors, I need to not only unlock the access to beast tribe vendor, but also need to gain enough reputation to step up in Beast Tribe Relations rank. Currently I am at Neutral with the Sylphs, which is the first rank. And I will need 150 reputation points to be able to get a promotion to next rank. Each day, I can take 3 daily quests from the Sylphs. So it means it will take me at least 10 days to get to 2nd rank. However, there is no guarantee that the next rank will enable me to buy dyes from the Sylphic Vendor, as I have no idea which rank the dyes are at. The same goes for the Amalj’aa.

So today I’ll just post the pics for the new crafted dyes first. Unfortunately, I no longer own the same sets of gear I used when I compared old crafted dyes. Therefore, I am going to show the new crafted dyes on 3 sets of craft class specific equipment (lv 50 gear).
