UPDATE! After posting this (which was automatically shared by WordPress system to my FaceBook and Tumblr) I got a comment from one of my friends: “you need to disable secondary device and set device output to standard speaker.” So, hopefully, this fixes the problem for some, if not all, of those who are having this issue.

Today my site stats reports that someone came here with the search keyword “ff14 npc ไม่มีเสียง” which can be translated into English “ff14 NPC has no voice.” Then I remember seeing someone asking in a Thai FFXIV Community on FaceBook that his game doesn’t play the Voice Acting sound at all. He hears everything else, except the voice acting part. He never heard the narrator describing the city-state in which he created his character, he never heard the Scions NPC talking, he never heard the Hydaelyn speaking. He hears BGM, effect, and his own character’s voices all right, but not the voice acting from NPC in the cutscene where it occurs.

I found this Voice Acting in FFXIV PC/PS3? thread on Reddit and some people stated that they are not hearing the voice acting either. One person said they are using Windows 8, and one other person said they’re using Windows 7. I am not sure if it is because they haven’t run into the quests that are voice acted, or if they have the same problem with the Thai person.

I also found this thread on the official forum, http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/73705-Not-hearing-voice-overs-in-cutscense Some people are having the same issue too. Maybe soon someone will be able to solve the mystery.

Anyone else having the same issue? What to do to fix the problem? I feel sorry for the guy that he cannot hear the voice acting.

วันนี้ site stats รายงานว่ามีคนหลงเข้ามาที่บล็อกนี้ด้วยคีย์เวิร์ด “ff14 npc ไม่มีเสียง” เลยนึกได้ว่าวันก่อนเห็นในเฟซบุ๊ค มีคนถามเรื่องไม่ได้ยินเสียงพากย์ในคัทซีนเลย เสียงบรรยายเกี่ยวกับเมือง ตอนเพิ่งสร้างตัวละครก็ไม่ได้ยิน แล้วยังเสียงของ NPC สำคัญ (เช่นพวก Scions  กับพวกหัวหน้าคัมพานี) เสียงของ Hydaelyn คริสตัลก็ไม่ได้ยิน! แต่เสียงอื่น ๆ ได้ยินหมด ไม่มีปัญหา เช่นเสียงเพลงในพื้นหลัง เสียงตัวละครของตัวเอง เสียงเอฟเฟคในเกม

แล้วเราก็เจอกระทู้นี้ในเรดดิท Voice Acting in FFXIV PC/PS3? บางคนบอกว่าไม่ได้ยินเสียงพากย์! เห็นว่าใช้ Windows 8 ส่วนอีกคนใช้ Windoes 7 แต่เราไม่แน่ใจนะว่าเขาไม่ได้ยินเพราะยังทำเควสต์ไม่ถึง หรือเพราะเป็นปัญหาเดียวกันคนไทยที่ถามคนนั้น

แล้วเราก็เจอกระทู้ถามในออฟฟิเชียลฟอรั่มของไฟนอล 14 http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/73705-Not-hearing-voice-overs-in-cutscense มีคนเป็นแบบนี้เหมือนกัน ยังไงคงต้องคอยดูต่อไป อาจจะมีคนไขปริศนานี้ได้ก้ได้

มีใครเจอปัญหาแบบเดียวกันบ้างมั้ยคะ? ต้องทำยังไงถึงจะแก้ให้มันมีเสียงตามปรกติ? เห็นแล้วสงสารอ่ะ อดฟังเสียงพากย์
