Please make Hab meet inspector Hildibrand

Sent this today:

Dear SE,

After the Gold Saucer patch, I noticed that Hab became a Triple Triad player and started accepting Triple Triad challenges from adventurers. For that, I thank you. It was the very kind of you to have given him some activities to entertain himself. However, as now the boom of Triple Triad has quieted down, Hab is lonely again. Whenever I visited his camp to collect Mythril Ores, I can’t help feeling sad for him.

His Sabotender buddies never came to visit him ever again since they went home. And adventurers stopped coming here, except perhaps some Miners. Is it possible for you to somehow let him meet Hildibrand? Inspecter Hildibrand is famous among the fallens, and Hab should have heard about him. Perhaps you can make him get a letter from one of his Sabotender buddies, for something emergency or mysterious, and Hab wants to help his friend. So, Hab might seek help from an adventurer to contact Hildibrand and have him solve the case for a happy ending.

Then, his idle dialogue should change, for those who have finished this latest quest. Because even now, after I have befriended him, and helped him find his friends, and learned of his beautiful nature, he still treated me like a no-name adventurer who seemed hostile. He talked to me like a stranger. He does not recognize me.

Please at least make him recognize me, and say something like “Oh I’m happy you come here to visit me.” “I hope you are doing great in your adventure.” “I miss Sabotendrick, Sabotendred, and Sabotendale. I hope they are fine.” Or something to show a little bit of happiness in him. This poor soul is sitting all lonely in a faraway corner of a vast and quiet desert. It makes me sad that he doesn’t even enjoy my presence there because he doesn’t recognize me as a friend.

—————————-

And this:

Dear SE,

I’m sorry for writing yet another letter about Hab the Zombie. I just ran into Albin the Ashen, the elite mark rank B for weekly hunt bill. And I just realized that Hab could use some background story as a friend of Hab. Maybe they befriended each other after they became fallens.

And since Albin is on a hunt bill, you may want to make Hab say something like “Albin went and got his name on the wanted list and now he wanders the land to escape the hunters” or something like that. Maybe Hab could be the source of gossip or information as to why the Grand Company would place a prize on Albin’s head when he is rather harmless. Thank you for reading my ramblings. But I truly hope that Hab has more happiness and more friends.

———————————–

What got into me? LOL IDK. I’m drunk and I’m not sorry.

Hab the Zombie, revisit

Today I visited my friend, Hab, again and decided to write a poem about him.

Here sits Hab, the lone zombie.
In a far corner of Sagolii desert.
He is calm and quite friendly.
So, adventurers, don’t be alert.

He despises the taste of brain.
And is just chilling at his campfire.
Stay your sword, axe, lance and cane.
And soothe your killing desire.

Sit down with him and listen.
Many stories, he’ll share with you.
How his friendship had him smitten.
You know, Zombies Are People Too.

He used to have a few close friends.
With whom he had fun together.
Those green and thorny Sabotens.
But one day, they left for adventure.

Hab was frantic with pain and worry.
To have again become a loner.
He hoped his friends were in safety.
Even if they left because his odor.

I went to search, through his request.
In the Shroud, Wineport and Zanr’ak
I found all, and thought it the best.
But now he sat alone in the dark.

His spikey friends were homesick.
And said they miss their family.
Their departure was so quick.
And Hab couldn’t hide that he’s lonely.

But while I frowned with sadness.
Hating that I brought the third one.
He said something that’s so selfless.
I was baffled from the stun.

“As long as I know they are in safety,”
He told me with a gentle smile.
“Even if they aren’t here, I am happy.”
It left me speechless for a long while.

So, adventurers, if you would please.
Come visit this guy when you can.
He has Triple Triad expertise.
If you also play, challenge this man.

In your free time, keep him company.
His camp also has ores, such as Mythril.
He deosn’t deserve to be lonely.
Please come here to sit and chill.

Generous person in FATE

OMGGGG This person, Aina ???????? (censoring because the person is a stranger and I did not ask for permission to reveal name), is so nice. I’m not saying that people who don’t notice such things and don’t realize they could be generous in FATE are bad or unkind, but this person, in my eyes, is very kind and is also a discerning individual. This kind of person will often look out for others and extend generosity to strangers. Sometimes they would even spend time and effort and go out of their way to help others.

ffxiv_12182015_100521 (4)

Today I took 3 Amalj’aa beast tribe quests to start collecting beast tokens for 3rd stage of Anima weapon. Unfortunately, one of them involves killing a FATE boss to obtain a key item. It just wouldn’t pop. So I went to Sylphlands for other quests and after finishing Sylph’s quests, I went back to Southern Thanalan to check on the FATE. And yes, it popped and it had 12 minutes left. I rushed there at my top speed. It was so far away, all the way inside Zahar’ak.

When I got there, someone else was there with their chocobo, and the boss HP dropped from full to 50% VERY quickly. I panicked and hopped off my chocobo, hit level sync button, and then did everything to try to get the FATE participation credits. Swiftcast + Divine Seal + Medica II, and Eye for Eye on my chocobo, for example. And I used all my instant spells like Aero and Fluid Aura, thinking I still might not make it. (I can’t remember if you needed Gold for FATE key item to drop or not.)

Amid my flurry, I saw that the person doing emotes at me. So I looked closely, the person was standing with weapon sheathed and not attacking. O_o! He or she must have noticed me and my desperation, and decided to let me get more share of the participation credits.

My battle did not even last longer than 30 seconds, but I ended up getting the item drop!!!

I was so glad and very grateful. This trivial kindness is really what encourages me to continue playing the game without shutting myself in FC house crafting all day (or roaming the waters, fishing without interacting to human, lol.)

Most people would just either not even notice me and my need of FATE credits, and some might do, but still don’t care enough to share, as I’ve experienced many times before. It’s not a good feeling. I get pouty and a little mad. Not mad enough to insult the person or the shout channel, but mad, yeah.

As a result, whenever I notice late comers to the FATE and I’m sure my reward is secured, I stop competing and change my chocobo to healer mode, so that more people could benefit from the FATE instead of me hoarding the excessive participation credits. Because, you know, some FATEs could take 7 hours to respawn.

Diadem: Buried Coffer

Today, after PZ left when we finished a Diadem (Hard) run together, Corn, Kuji and  I went in again, for another round of Tomestone of Esoterics.

While searching for a Buried Coffer and Black Crystals for the objectives, I spotted a Buried Coffer near a huge Sanuwa. Before I could ask someone to come in to bait the thing for me, a party nearby approached and aggroed it.

I looked at them and thought maybe they wanted the Buried Coffer, but they all went to fight the monster. So I thought to myself oh maybe only I could see the box, just like Levequest treasure boxes. So I started interacting with the Buried Coffer. Suddenly, one of that party’s members rushed to the box. So I was like oh shit shit shit, I’m being a jerk. Luckily, the dig could be interrupted by running around, so I ran off and left before stealing their box. Of course, when they finished it, Buried Coffer disappeared from my view.

So, in case some people didn’t know about this already, I just want to note here that the Buried Coffers in Diadem are shared between everyone, not appearing for individuals, so you will have to compete against other parties for the coffer. I would have been so embarrassed if I did successfully steal their treasure while they were sweating and bleeding trying to kill a monster that guarded it. And if I were in that party, I would have felt so shitty and mad at anyone who steals it from under my nose when apparently we deserve the treasure.

Diadem Hard

Yesterday our FC Airship finally unlocked and charted the route to Diadem (Hard) so the 4 of us (Bray was missing because real life stuff) went to Diadem (Hard) for the first time.

ffxiv_12072015_031115_new

We usually go to Diadem (Easy) or (Normal) 3 times a week for extra eso (Tomestone of Esoterics) which will allow us to skip more days of Expert Roulette. With Corn’s formula, combined with one Void Ark run, we only need 3 days of Expert+Lv60 Roulettes per week if we go to Diadem for extra 20, 30, or 40 eso on those days too.

ffxiv_12072015_031227_new

This ultimate lazy route allows us to free up more time to go do other stuff such as Daily Hunts and Beast Tribe Quests, for example.

ffxiv_12072015_031230_new

Our Diadem Run would require only about 15-20 minutes because we go for 3 easiest (or most viable) objectives which usually are “Touching Black/White Crystal(s)”, “Gather 16 items” and Catch 8 fish.” Sometimes if we have “find coffer chests” in the choice and people are able to find them quick, we don’t even have to log or mine 16 items.

We start off with letting Corn lure enemies away and sac pulling (or just jumping to other island to lose aggro, because he’s a hax master of baiting). Then, after someone, or I if we’re duo, become airborne, we come back to lure enemies away for Corn to let him attune to the winds too.

Then, we scatter to find White or Black crystals, and coffers if there is an objective. Then, we have someone lure enemies away from gathering nodes to let the DoL persons do it safely.

Then, TADA! Objectives fulfilled, and we get the eso rewards. It usually gives 30 but there was a time when we got only 20 and we can’t figure out what’s the variation. From Diadem (Hard) last night, we got 40 eso, though.

Well, that’s about it for now, I shall talk more about Diadem later if there is any interesting finding.

ffxiv_12072015_033311_newBefore I say goodbye for today, here’s a screenshot of blood moon in Diadem. :)

SMN griefing in Void Ark

*Warning, very long rant post.*
ffxiv_11302015_020904_censor2

I’ve been in Void Ark only with my FC friends (4-5 people together, and other strangers in DF would fill the party) so far and yesterday’s run was the worst Void Ark I’ve ever been in.  (Although a friend had always been complaining about Void Ark because he usually queues solo and go with a whole party (and alliance) of strangers, and then the raid would keep failing and people start voting abandon, so he could never finish his weekly Void Ark run.)

In yesterday’s party (we were team B), there was a Summoner who was the embarrassment of the team. Not only that he or she appeared impatient and rude, but their actions hindered the raid and contradicted each other.

In short, this SMN person would dart in and pull the bosses before a tank did, catching the whole alliance by surprise and resulting in deaths. Yet, in last boss room, this person got mad at others for failing strategies.

Wait, what? You were the one who didn’t allow time for other teams to explain stuff to their newcomers. You were the reason why new people received no brief. I can’t believe this SMN!!! Just what on earth is wrong with them?

Well, naturally, when people see that all 3 parties are at the entrance of boss room, someone would immediately engage. So, that might not be helpful to the first timers. But no one said anything, so we didn’t realize that they weren’t ready. The early pulling continued and I didn’t notice anything out of order until we reached Cuchulain boss (poison spitting sea devil or octopus monster).

In Cuchulainn room someone said something like “please don’t pull before we brief our new people” but someone else pulled (not our disruptive SMN, though) and then apologized for not seeing the chat. Our first attempt failed. Team A and team C half wiped and were so crippled. I tried to raise the healers multiple times but it was beyond my power. We wiped, with our team (B) being the last fighters standing.

Upon retry, I saw it clear as crystal, the SMN in our team went ahead and pulled. So a tank had to assume the position. I think it was my static tank who did. Other team complaint about sudden pull, again, but no one said anything. We won this time.

Next room, the last boss, was a big mess. People were standing at the entrance, probably separately explaining strategies to their party members. Someone pulled. I did not notice who did it. The fight went well until one of the splits……… Where someone complaint about people not moving the snakes away properly. The SMN started cursing (“u 2 mofos” and then when someone asked which one, replied “tanks ofc” and then “idk if some people are blind or not, can’t you see the snake buffs” and “plus tanks already have aggro there”). (I must admit that I couldn’t make head or tail out of what the SMN said, like, who was in correct position and who were in the wrong position? Where do we move the snake? Which tank had aggro there? And where did “there” refer to?

Someone in team C tried to explain more, saying “just go to the outer sides of the arena – doesnt matter which snake, but just dont stand in the middle like idiots with one snake Ö.ö”  (Just FYI, our tank was standing at the edge, well far away from the middle or the Naga.)

Then people put markers on the floor to make sure each team split at a good distance. But before everyone became ready, that SMN pulled with Garuda-Egi. (If you check the screenshot, there was a Ready Check, with 3 people saying they weren’t ready….) I was so mad! Just what the hell do they think they’re doing!? It was a total douchebaggery to do such thing.

I hit my Swiftcast button, preparing to raise, refraining from lashing out because it wasn’t a good time to waste my breath lecturing someone, but that corpse disappeared. The SMN went to homepoint and sat out the whole fight without apologizing or saying anything at all.

Now, that’s really unacceptable. Leeching our hard work for their weekly win…. Especially after pulling early, catching everyone by surprise and ruining the strategy and the timing. It’s beyond rude and is a horrible thing to do, because raid needs team work, so if someone is not cooperative and also disrupts the flow of the battle, it can spell a disaster. It wastes other people’s time and effort. It ruins the fun. It hinders the gameplay. It’s something worth submitting a GM report.

Atop a Snowy Cliff

*This entry contains spoilers of FFXIV 3.0 main scenario quest line*

I used to go to the top of the cliff overlooking Ishgard for sightseeing a lot. This cliff has the Mark of Menphina (symbol stone of one of the Twelve, the Lover) and sometimes I come here to admire the stones. XD

With the story of 3.0 (Heavensward) there is a change to the cliff… a change which I’m still trying to cope with. ><;;

Today I was supposed to continue main scenario quest to catch up with the 3.1 updates, but I am sick and emo and didn’t feel like it. So I just sat there moping while writing a poem.

Atop a Snowy Cliff

Many moons have passed since that day,
The cursed moment when you were taken away,
What I wouldn’t give to go back in the past,
To stop that day from being your last,

Oh, why, only if I weren’t so careless,
We could have spared me from this sadness,
Atop the wind-chilled cliff in the Highlands,
With white flowers in my trembling hands,

I come here to greet you again, dear friend,
The deep wound in my heart has yet to mend,
It doesn’t get any easier, Francel said,
That echoes my exact thought, I’m afraid,

Staring at the broken shield and snowy headstone,
Fierce pain pierces though my every bone,
Trickles of sorrow seep along my veins,
My heart feels heavy like shackled in chains,

You were so kind, just, and courageous,
My cheery ally, truly warm and courteous,
Whose loyalty stirred me to the very depths of my soul,
At the very best, you’ve carried your role,

A knight lives to serve, to protect, to sacrifice,
But why must the vow come with such price?
A knight is to aid those in need, you said,
Then, before me, your life has been laid,

Don’t call me hero, for the true hero was you,
Countless times, you had helped me through,
Had welcomed me with open arms,
And smiled to me with such unique charm,

Told me no matter how far I may roam,
To ever consider your place my home,
Your hospitality was great and endless,
You’re beacon of hope in a world of darkness,

I know no man with stronger conviction,
Who has greater love to the Ishgard nation,
Would that you were here to fight by my side,
Or leisurely hop on for a chocobo ride,

So that I could show you the peace you saved,
And the road to prosperity which you paved,
I daresay you were my greatest comrade,
And the sturdiest ally I’ve ever had,

“My arm will not falter; my shield will not break,”
You promised, before putting your life at stake,
This loss is both too harsh and too heavy,
Why, oh why must you do this to me?

You fought your battle with all your honor,
To you, I know this is not an error,
But to me, I felt so much despair,
How much I wish this were just nightmare,

Wallowing in sorrow will make you frown,
The A Warrior of Light can’t let you down,
For these reasons, and for these alone,
That I will wipe my tears and not bemoan,

I must not remain a broken blade,
Because that was what you forbade,
You once said a smile better suits me,
Therefore, like that, it will be,

Though it won’t be an easy feat, I’ll try my best,
With you as a model, I will pass any test,
I shall now straighten up and fight on,
In tribute to the hero who is gone,

May the Fury take your soul in her Hall,
And grant me your courage when the duties call,
May Menphina, the goddess of love,
Let you have peace and watch us from above.

Diadem Easy

On 14 November 2015, 4 days after patch 3.1 was released, our FC rode the airship for our first Exploratory Mission, heading to Diadem (Easy). We had 4 people, Corn, Bray, Kuji and I.

ffxiv_11142015_100058_new

As we entered, there was a first time cutscene. :D Pretty neat.

ffxiv_11142015_100106_new

And while I was cursing, in my mind, about the weather being foggy, thus ruining my screenshot moment, I heard a FC message beep.
ffxiv_11142015_100108_newWhen the cutscene ended, I saw that the message was Kuji’s.

Kuji: I could almost hear Alec furiously slamming her screenshot button.
Me: Whaaaaaa….how did you know? Were you spying in my room?
Corn: We only know you too well.
Bray: LOL

Okay….I can’t argue because it was true XD LOL.

Monsters Location Maps: Rank B Clan Hunt

Link to my Google Drive folder of Monsters Location Maps: http://goo.gl/iPEYox

I made these maps because I am terrible at spotting places using the coordination, I would have to fumble about for a long time, trying to hover my mouse everywhere on the map to find the correct pos. By marking the pos onto a visual map, it helps me a lot when I need to scout for these Clan Hunts. The maps were originally intended for my personal use, but then it became useful to a few friends, then to a few strangers in the game. Eventually one of them said I should post this on the internet. So here goes…

Note: I’m not going to come back to edit the .jpg pics I post here. However, the Google Drive link will be updated as soon as I notice any unlisted spawn spot or confirm anything new.
