Bikini Battle

So, yesterday, a Bikini Battle has broken out in Costa Del Sol. This event consists of men dressing in clothes smaller than their smallclothes, fighting almost naked on the beach while we ladies watch with amusement.

No, I jest! It was actually Moonfire Faire 2013. (Read official announcement >> here <<)

Well, it started since Monday 9 Sep. End date wasn’t mentioned in the article, but judging from duration of all other festivities in the past, I would guess this one will last 2 weeks. By the way, I don’t know why but when I think of this event, I always thinkg “Bombfire Faire” instead of Moonfire. Hahaha.

To participate, one does not need to take a quest. But if you’d like to hear some information about the event, you can talk to Cascadier Captain in any of the 3 city-states and inquire about it. The Bomb King will appear as FATE in many maps. I have found it in North Shroud, Central Shroud. So I am positive that the same goes for the fields in front of Limsa and Ul’dah as well. These low level ones seem to start every 30 minutes earth time, while the one I saw in Costa Del Sol (about level 30?) popped every 15 minutes.

The locations of the FATE area where you can join and hunt for Wet Bomb Ashes to trade in at the Cascadier NPC for swimsuits and fireworks are not stated by the NPC, but I would guess that you can find it in any map. Only that on my server, Ragnarok, people tend to flock over to Costa Del Sol.

In order to win, you have to kill enough Bombards, which makes Cascadiers (NPC) defeat the Bomb King, before all 100 Cascadiers NPC die! There are Bomb Balloons which you can go and activate in order to attract the small Bombards, making them crowd around the Balloons and become easy group target for the killing spree. Successful FATE rewards 30 Wet Bomb Ashes, while a failed FATE gives only 20.

Anyway, here is a dump of screenshot I took of Haku and Corn yesterday, LOL. (We went to hang out in a far corner, away from the FATE and the crowd.)

By the way, since I was just paparazziing them while they interact, I will describe the pics as I like. Doesn’t mean that it’s what they were actually doing or thinking. :P

Corn showed up in Coliseum fighter’s fashion!

Haku poked fun at him and said it’s not suitable for the beach. So he changed.

Corn doesn’t seem pleased. Why, I haven’t had time to hunt for the bomb ashes yet!

Haku taunted him further, showing off his body in the new swimsuit.

Corn said I have 5 sets of swimsuits from last year! DO not mock me! And then challenged for a fight!

Right on! Haku accepted the challenge and they started freezing each other with Blizzard II. XD No, actually, (and I mean ACTUALLY) Corn said Haku is too hot, gotta cool him down with Blizzarrd.

Then Haku had to go AFK for a very long time, due to mom aggro. So I just stood around while Corn ran around Haku, summoning different summons and minions.
